経済学はモノやサービスの生産、交換、分配、消費などの問題を、広い視野から分析的に研究していく学問です。経済学を学ぶということは、現代の政治や社会の問題をその内側から捉えることにもなります。また、歴史的な視点からもそれらの問題に迫るならば、その理解はより深まるでしょう。現在、グローバル化が急速に進行しており、国境を越えたヒト、モノ、カネ、情報の動きに世界経済は大きく揺れ動いています。経済学の世界に足を踏み入れ、経済の動きやその意味を分析的に捉えることができるようになるならば、将来、それは皆さんにとっての大きな力となるでしょう。
本学部は教育?研究に携わってきた教員に加え、企業や官公庁などでの仕事に身を置いてきた教員を数多く擁しています。つまり、生きた経済の動きを教室で教授できるようにしています。講義だけでなく、ライフデザイン、基礎演習、演習などの少人数教育の場で、皆さんは経済学の面白さ、ビジネスの現場の話などを聞くことができるでしょう。そうしたなかで、皆さんの「知の好奇心」は確実に膨らんでいくことと思います。
