Students from Hachioji CampusTheater Club participated in research conducted by our university faculty as technical collaborators.

Shogo Obara (Faculty of Medical Technology 2nd year) and Ayuka Ehara (Faculty of Education 3rd year), members of Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus drama club Vixens Theater, provided technical assistance as actors and voice actors for a video produced by Yumiko Uchiyama as part of her research at the university's Faculty of Medical Technology Department of Sport and Medical Science Assistant Professor.

Mr. Ohara and Assistant Professor Ehara will be conducting research on preparation support for children who are reluctant to visit medical institutions to encourage them to receive treatment in a positive manner. I appeared as an actor and voice actor in a video to be used to help children prepare for Pediatrics consultations. In the video, the doll explores the inside of Pediatrics outpatient clinic, showing us what's in the exam room, the process of the exam, and tips on how to successfully receive the exam.Mr. Ohara narrates with Pediatrics, and Ms. Ehara is the nurse. and the reception staff, who were in charge of the voices of the dolls. After receiving advice on examination assistance techniques from teachers at Teikyo Senior Nursing School, they practiced their techniques, and then went on to actually take pictures at Pediatrics outpatient clinic of our university's Faculty of School of Medicine Hospital. Preparation time was limited as we concentrated on sharing scripts and holding production meetings during the summer vacation, but on the day of filming, we used the skills we normally demonstrate on stage to create a tone of voice that would make children feel at ease. With the narration and acting that matched the cast, we were able to create a video that children enjoyed.

The two approached their activities with a positive attitude, thinking, ``If what I do helps someone else.'' It is hoped that this video will be used in a variety of settings, including childcare settings, local child care support settings, and medical settings, so that children who watch this video will be able to have a positive outlook on Pediatrics visits without fear.
