Utsunomiya CampusTeikyo University Student, Takumi Ogawa, Receives Prestigious FIT Encouragement Award at FIT2023

In a commendable display of academic prowess, Teikyo University left an indelible mark at the 22nd Information Science and Technology Forum (FIT2023). This distinguished event, spanning from September 6 to September 8, 2023, unfolded at the revered Osaka Public University Nakamozu Campus in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.
Takumi Ogawa, a second-year graduate student from the School of Science and Engineering, emerged as a standout achiever, clinching the highly coveted FIT Encouragement Award. This recognition stands as a resounding testament to Takumi Ogawa's unwavering dedication and exemplary expertise in the realm of information science and technology.

FIT2023, a collaborative venture between the Information and Systems Society (ISS) and Human Communication Group (HCG) of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, in conjunction with the Information Processing Society of Japan, epitomized the ethos of remaining at the forefront of cutting-edge developments in the field. The event's underlying mission was to foster fresh perspectives, broaden intellectual horizons, and inspire students and young researchers to nurture their aspirations and fortitude. A defining moment came courtesy of Mr. Takumi Ogawa, who presented a paper titled "Reinforcement Learning Agent that Deals with Diverse Opponents in Competitive Fighting Games" during a pivotal session on game informatics. Ogawa's exceptional work not only met but exceeded the stringent selection criteria, earning him a well-deserved accolade. Buoyed by this recognition, Teikyo University is poised to forge ahead in the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI), striving to develop AI systems that not only captivate and entertain but also seamlessly collaborate with humans.
