The event featured a special address by Ms. Kayo Ichihara, a dedicated figure in science education.

In a transformative session at Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus on June 21, 2023, Professor Jun Nishioka, an esteemed member of the Faculty of Language Studies, shared his experiences from "Cooperation Theory I" in Kenya as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV). The event featured a special address by Ms. Kayo Ichihara, a dedicated figure in science education.
One compelling example focused on an initiative to beautify the environment by combatting littering. Ichihara noted, "By steadily continuing my own way of doing things, my children gradually changed." He underscored the importance of perceiving global issues as personal concerns, a viewpoint that resonated deeply with the audience.

Students in attendance were profoundly impacted by the session. One shared, "We must cherish our current lives more," while another confessed, "I realized again that my current life is not as natural as I had imagined in developing countries." The class prompted reflections on the intricacies of life abroad, with one participant acknowledging, "It made me realize that I have to think about things that I don't think about deeply when I live in Japan. I have deepened my understanding that even goals that seem to be insignificant are interrelated."
